Today's sedentary lifestyle is affecting you. It's as simple as that. You are designed to be in motion, moving on a continual basis for most of the day. Our systems are not designed to be seated for extended periods of time. We are not intended to sit and type for hours on end, yet many of us are.
All physical injuries can be alleviated by movement, the challenge is finding and working to the level that is required for your successful rehabilitation and healing. That's where Mind Body Spirit Balance come in.
Many of today's physios and doctors rely on a consistent "flow" of patients, oftentimes "requiring" or suggesting that you return for a group of "ten or more sessions" or "take two of these every day then come back and see me in a week." You've all no doubt heard of or experienced this yourselves.
That behaviour is driven by the need to be successful in the business world, generating "repeat clientele." Whilst the underlying desire may still be to "get you well" it is often overridden with a desire to create income so that the "bills can be paid" and the "build business success." The focus is on them and their creation of income, which to be fair, is required to exist in this world. (A patient cured is a patient lost, after all!)
However, at Mind Body Spirit Balance, the focus is on you. Massive income generation is not a crucial part of our business as we work from a home office, we do not have the same overheads that many clinics and practices have. We keep costs down for you, our clients
Most importantly, we provide you with the answers and movement solutions to your ailments so that you can work on them through a process of education and understanding. This allows you to "take charge" of your healing and rehabilitation.
YOU become the master of your owner healing and wellness journey without being reliant on "Take two of these and come see me next week" or "You'll need ten more sessions to get well."
Those practices are outdated in this world where the journey that created the injuries and ailments are unique to you. This means your healing journey is also unique to you and cannot be "pre packaged" into "ten sessions" or "two pills" that fixes you.
What is Movement Therapy?
Movement Therapy uses your bodies (and mind) ability to move to assist in healing you. Movement stimulates muscles, it stimulates the nervous system, it pumps the lymphatic system, it promotes good cardiovascular health, it aids the digestive tract, it helps create emotional balance (through chemical release) it promotes a healthy immune system, it strengthens the skeletal connections and it stimulates your skin and so on and so forth.
Movement does all this, but in today's society, we lack of movement.
Put as simplistically as possible Movement Therapy is: "Using movement to create healing potential within your body."
Wherever your injury/aliment is, movement therapy will benefit your healing.
How do you do it?
You don't, well not by yourself at least. Working with your Movement Therapist, together you will discover a series or group of safe and developing movements that allows you to create the most beneficial healing environment within your connected systems. This may be as simple as "Assisted Knee Bends" for serious Knee injuries moving to "Unassisted Single Offline Leg Squats" for minor (and professional training) injuries.
Everyone's journey, and ability is unique to them, so each person's program will be catered to them, for them to create the maximal healing environment.
The system involves using movement, kinetic and connective tissues, breath work, myofascial connection and mental presence.
