Hamish, Rachel & Amelie Macdonald
Having left the Waikato in 2017, we moved back in November 2021 after COV*D destroyed our business in Auckland and cost us everything. Like many getting out of Auckland we found finding accommodation impossible, so we ended up renting the tiny home for a couple of years.
WHAT WE ARE ABLE TO OFFER YOU
Hamish is the director of our Drug Testing business since 2017 and has run a business as a Reiki Healer, Energetic Therapist & Movement Specialist since 2000.
Hamish also served in the Police in Wellington from 2005 until 2012 where he served frontline and also at the Royal New Zealand Police College and in District until being asked to teach investigation to the Inland Revenue department up to 2017. After years in govt service we branched out into our own business until the pandemic essentially shut ours (and many) businesses down. He can also put his hand to almost anything, he grew up on a farm in Wanganui and has the innate knack to figure things out. He has over 35 years in the martial arts and has been teaching for over 30 years.
Rachel is ex military, where she served as a chef in the Airforce for 6 years. She is the driving force behind our businesses as she balances the roles of operations manager, managing director to our businesses and full time mother to our youngest daughter, Amelie. She has built and sold a cleaning business, and ran a home delivery/pick-up meals business.
Amelie is the youngest of our four kids (The other 3 living their best lives in Auckland & Christchurch) and turns 18 in August 2024, she is full time in her growing Jewellery Business making Terahertz Bracelets/Jewellery (which fits in nicely with our www.mindbodyspiritbalance.co.nz business ethos) and loves art, our small fur babies, photography, and the outdoors! She has embraced our new life in the Waikato and is a joy to be around.
We have all completed a Bio Intensive Gardening Course - so we are rearing to go and happy to set up/work on our garden so we all have food for the future. We work local markets on the weekends with our Mind Body Spirit Balance stall.
Given the state of the economy, and the flexibility of our businesses, we are happy to pay rent and/or work on land/farm - we are open to all options. We are not a lazy family. Rachel & Amélie can also help with cooking/cleaning/child care etc.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We need something rural - With likeminded people who understand what is going on with the World right now. Over the last couple of years homesteading we have set up gardens and have a house cow who we milk every day and our 6 chickens. We are after a 3 bedroom home - with grazing room for our House Cow and space to set up a chicken coup.

Our main business is Toxicology testing. Meth Xpert New Zealand Ltd. Whilst the economy is a little slow, we still operate in the Waikato after having to close three other branches.
Our website is www.methxpert.co.nz. With this, we work from home meaning your property is in good hands. Not only because we test for drugs (and don't use them) but in between jobs, we are at our home office, looking after your property, meaning we are house proud and the house is always kept in a fastidious manner.
Our second business is Mind Body Spirit Balance www.mindbodyspiritbalance.co.nz where we offer energetic healing, reiki, aromatherapy, environmental therapies, bio-mechanical movement therapy and Martial Arts training, working local markets on the weekends around Waikato.
We have our four small lapdogs (Corazón & Willow - Jasper & Ruby), who are about 4.5kg and are Hypoallergenic and do not shed hair. They are housetrained & farm trained and function as our "doorbell" whenever someone knocks on our door. They sleep in a crate at night or whenever we are not home. They are very used to being around horses, cows, sheep and other animals.d
These are interesting times and we are finding the MOST important thing is Community and we would love any help in finding our new home in this wonderful awake like minded beautiful part of NZ.
